GEOGRAPHY
The Port of Clarkston was created in 1958, slackwater arrived at the location in 1975, which enabled shipments of grain and paper products from the area. The Port is the farthest inland port in Washington State. The Port of Clarkston started with 120 acres of land, which the majority has been leased and improved with roads and utilities. With the slackwater into the area and recreational activities available throughout the year, the Port of Clarkston has been involved with tourism to the valley.
The Port of Clarkston includes the entire county, but generally operates north of the City of Clarkston adjacent to the Snake River with 120 acres of prime flat land with all infrastructure in place.
